DRESS DOWN DAY FOR BOSTON

This Friday, April 26th, students can dress-down in honor of those individuals who were injured during the terrible incident that occurred at the Boston Marathon last week. A fund has been set-up called the One Fund Boston to assist those families in need of additional medical help. This Friday students can wear jeans for $4 or $2 to wear casual attire to donate to this fund. It would be nice if they could wear something with the colors of red, white and blue as well-or even the uniform colors of any of the Boston Sports Teams.

Thank you for your support and most importantly, for supporting those individuals who need our thoughts and prayers more than ever at this time. This is our chance for students from St. Paul School to unite as one with Boston Strong.

Mr. Corry

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.

WINTER BREAK: FEBRUARY 18-22

Dear Parents:

Well now we can all say we survived the Blizzard of 2013 (some of us are also survivors of 78’ as well). I hope everyone did not suffer too much in the way of loss of power, though it did get awful cold that Saturday night without any heat! With the official day of spring not too far off (33 days away, but who’s counting), we hope to get through the rest of the winter without any further school closings. Believe it or not, but a robin has been outside my window since I started writing this letter. Either he/she didn’t get the memo last fall on where to go, or he/she knows something we don’t!

I’m glad everyone realizes now that we do not follow either Cranston or Providence School Districts. Though we may be similar in our school closing or delays, we still have the option of going our own way nevertheless.

Our monthly Newsletter will be coming out later this month, but in the meantime, please check the attached school calendar on any events on the days ahead.

Just so you will always know when we have a delay or closing, please sign up to get text messages both from AAA and from Twitter.  To sign up for the AAA alert go to www.wpri.com and click on weather.  From the drop down menu, choose closings.  You will then see Sign Up for School Closing Email and Text AlertsClick on that and follow the directions to receive notices about St. Paul School.  To get Twitter alerts, go to the school web site www.saintpaulschoolcranston.org and click on Follow us on Twitter SaintPaulInfo for News & Important Announcements and sign up.  You should receive these text messages even if you lose power.

Have a safe winter weekend (Presidents’ Day on Monday) and week- we’ll see everyone back on Monday, February 25th. If it does snow, let’s hope it comes during this time!
